| BEST WIMPY IN THE WORLD! Thursday, 11th March 2010 This huge achievement was announced on Tuesday evening (09 March 2010) at Emperor’s Palace, where the winners of all 21 regions gathered to celebrate their success. Bongani Mkhwanazi, the Irene Wimpy manager, said that he was literally jumping for joy when the winner was announced. Wimpy’s service excellence program is called “One soul, one goal”, and all the stores in Southern Africa are judged on their cleanliness, service, food quality and presentation, as well as the amount of complaints and compliments received. Once the regional winners are decided upon, the “Shoot-out” takes place - mystery shoppers visit and assess the regional winners each day for seven days in a row. In this manner, Irene Village Mall’s Wimpy went on to best all others by proving that their high standard of service was unquestionable and consistent. They won a substantial cash prize that can be used at the manager’s discretion, and Bongani has decided that it will be divided equally among all employees. Bongani was also quick to point out that he couldn’t have done it without his wife, Thuli, and they’ll receive their just reward when they undertake an all expenses paid trip to Alaska in September.
