| It was everybody's birthday on 29 February 2008 Friday, 29th February 2008 Irene Village Mall management team – the mooohiest team alive - enjoyed a “rooi koeldrank en cupcakes” party in the boardroom on Friday – all in the spirit of leap year day and everybody’s birthday – (Hester Potgieter, our centre manager’s idea) Later that day we also sadly said goodbye to Hester who is handing over the Mall, and going back to her position as Operations Director of Retail Africa – where she will be opening another 3 new Mall’s in the next year! 400 Birthday gifts were handed out to our guests on Friday from 10:00 till 19:00 that night. Gifts ranged from Irene Village Mall Plastique (our gift card) (60) to the value of R3000 and vouchers sponsored by tenants to the value of over R25000.00 (Great tenants we have!). The milk maiden’s patrol spotted the main winner around 18:00. Karen Greyling was truly surprised when the Milk Maiden’s Patrol serenaded her with a saxophone version of the happy birthday song and announced her as the main birthday girl of the day.
