| IRENE SUPPORTS CANSA SHAVATHON
The CANSA Shavathon on Saturday 06 March was a resounding success at Irene Village Mall. Thousands showed up to have their heads shaven by the professionals from Carlton Hair, or sprayed in all the colours of the (neon) rainbow! Many stories were shared of friends and family members suffering from the disease, and rivers of hair were shed in solidarity. The kids especially enjoyed the artistry of the volunteers, who decorated each head as if it were a blank canvas. Sometimes there were very specific instructions on the colours and patterns to be applied, while others were courageous enough to say “use your imagination”! It was a heart-warming day filled with smiles and camaraderie, which will long be remembered by all involved. |
