| THE WINE WALK
On Friday night Irene Village Mall was abuzz with thousands flocking in to enjoy free wine tastings throughout the mall, at all the restaurants and at various wine estate stalls. The first 1000 visitors received free wine glasses and gift bags, with hampers and goodies from Distell, McGregors and Platinum randomly handed out to lucky guests throughout the night. The wineries that participated were Distell, Highland Roads & Belfield, Ira Wine, Boland Kelder and Platinum Wines & Olives. The restaurants offered wines from the estates of Bosman, Saints, Hermanuspietersfontein, Tall Horse, Muratie, Nederburg, Van Loveren, Four Cousins and Douglas Green. The atmosphere was jovial and the “village” looked resplendent as couples and friends wandered around the mall sampling and learning about the magnificent wines our country has on offer. Everyone also seemed thoroughly delighted with the unique opportunity to socialize and mingle with the lovely people of Pretoria and its surrounds. It was certainly an evening to remember, which will no doubt be repeated in the not too distant future!
