COVID-19 Updates

The safety of our staff and shoppers is of paramount importance, and together we can combat the spread of COVID-19.

The entire world has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We support the efforts of President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Government in taking serious action to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We at Irene Village Mall fully support the measures put in place by our local Government.

Level 1 Rules

We are operating under level 1 in accordance with the risk adjusted lock down strategy. As per the regulations specified by government, many additional stores are permitted to trade, however there are some exclusions as listed below:

- Personal care services, including hairdressing, beauty treatments, nails salons and piercing/tattoo parlours;

- Entertainment activities such as cinemas or events/conferences;

- The sale of tobacco products remains prohibited.

We assure our valued customers, tenants and staff that we are committed to their wellbeing and are monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak very carefully. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.

Trading stores

Irene Village Mall is open and the Mall’s interim trading hours are:

Mondays - Friday: 9am - 6pm

Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays: 9am - 5pm

Each stores trading hours may vary and are subject to change, so be sure to contact the relevant stores directly to confirm their trading hours.

Centre access & information:

Parking: All parking is open and free.

Lifts and bathrooms: All lifts and bathrooms are operational. Please exercise social distancing when using these facilities.

Safety measures: All shoppers are required to follow the health and safety protocols stipulated by the Government and National Department of Health. Please comply with these rules, including:

• Wearing a face mask. This is compulsory when visiting Irene Village Mall. To ensure the safety of our staff and shoppers, you will unfortunately not be granted access to the centre if you are not wearing a mask.

• Maintaining physical distancing of at least 1.5m.

• Maintaining protective hygiene, including washing hands and using sanitisers located at the entrances to the Mall.

• A limited number of customers will be allowed in stores, queues, lifts and on escalators. Please comply with these rules as directed.

It is recommended that the following additional precautionary measures are also followed:

• Avoid unnecessary browsing and picking up/putting down products.

• Contact stores directly prior to your visit to check their trading hours or if you are looking for a specific item or service.

• Make use of the in-store disinfectant wipes when making use of trolleys or baskets.

• If you do feel sick, stay home and seek medical attention.

• Stay informed, check trusted and reputable sources and avoid spreading rumours and fake news.

To health and safety of our staff and shoppers is of the utmost importance and as such we are diligently following the World Health Organisation’s recommended preventative protocol and complying with the Lockdown Regulations. The following additional precautionary measures and enhanced cleaning procedures are taking place on a regular basis:

• Increased cleaning protocol, with additional focus on handrails, lift buttons, parking machines, and all other high-touch areas.

• Ongoing deep-cleaning of the mall (disinfectant fogging).

• Increased refilling of soap dispensers in all bathroom facilities.

• Stores that are operating will be held to, and abide by the strictest measures in terms of health and safety as per Government guidelines and instructions.
